Jim Corless, 81, passed away Friday, October 8, 2010. He was born August 25, 1929 in St. Louis, MO to James and Gertrude (Crean) Corless. He served in the Navy during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in October of 1952. Jim was married to Mary Farley for 38 years until her passing in 1991. He worked for Plumbers Local 8 for 41 years including 12 years as Business Manager until retirement in 1987. In August of 2009, he celebrated his 80th birthday and married his best friend Inge Cronley.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, James and Gertrude (Crean) Corless, and wife Mary. His survivors include; wife Inge, sons; Mike (Sara), Dan (Mary), Jim (Terry), Kevin (Stacey); daughter Kim (Mark) Halpin; sisters Mickey Kelly and JoAnn Corless; step children Larry McKinney, Vicki (Mike) Cronley-Drescher, and Tim (Debbie) Cronley. He is also survived by 12 grandchilren and 1 great-grandchild.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, October 11, at St. Regis Church, 8941 James A. Reed Rd., Kansas City, MO. Visitation will be held at 5:30-7:30 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 10, at the Church, Rosary will be held at 5 p.m at St. Regis Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to St. Regis Church 8941 James A Reed Road, Kansas City, MO 64138.
