James L. Bowlin, 64, of Parkville, MO passed away while watching the Chiefs game on Friday night, August 27, 2010. Visitation will be Thursday, September 2nd from 6:00-8:00 PM and from 10:00-11:00 AM Friday, September 3rd at McGilley Antioch Chapel. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Friday at the funeral home with burial following at Maple Hill Cemetery. Contributions may be made to American Heart Association.
Jim was born June 6, 1946 near Eldon, MO to Ivan L. Bowlin and Lela(Cross) Bowlin. He was married March 10, 1973 to Jean(Stanton) Bowlin, who preceded him in death. Jim graduated from Eldon High School in 1964. In 1965, he moved to Kansas City and began working at United Missouri Bank, from which he retired after 36 years.
Jim is survived by his mother, Lela Bowlin of Eldon, MO, a sister, Judy Stinson of Cameron, MO, a brother Michael and wife Kathy of Butler, MO, 4 children; Jennifer Bowlin of Kansas City, Markey and husband Ron DeRoest of Glendale, AZ, Ivan and wife Tammy Bowlin of Overland Park, KS, and James L. Bowlin, Jr. of the home, 7 grandchildren; Clara, Olivia and Thomas Murphy; Lauren, Max, Madison DeRoest, Evelyn Bowlin and by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Jim was an avid fan of Missouri Tigers, Kansas City Chiefs, and Kansas City Royals. He especially enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren play sports. He was a member of Blue Springs Baptist Church of Eldon, MO.
