Jim was a kind soul. He helped drive me to South Dakota to be with family during a rough time in their lives. While there, he taught my young nephew, Adam (9 years old), how to fly a kite.  Into his adulthood, Adam would still ask me how Jim was doing and then tell me how much it meant to him that Jim spent time with him and was so encouraging. 
Jim also accepted my wife and I as we are, and understood what people face who may not always fit what society expects. 
Jim was "one of the good ones" in this world.

James was a dedicated member of MUFON who spent tireless hours as a volunteer in search for the truth about the existence of UFOs.  He took on additional tasks just because that was the kind of guy he was.  Jim was a navy veteran and loved to birdwatch. He was a regular at our weekly ZOOM meeting on Thursday night bringing his knowledge, and great sense of humor.  Jim, we miss you so much, you were one of a kind.

I never meet James in person.  We only communicated by phone and ZOOM.  However, I felt that we became friends.  When I joined MUFON (Mutual UFO Network) and I had a problem James was on the spot to help.  James was always helpful, unselfish, and a good friend.

I will miss him, and I am hoping all the best for Margaret

James will be greatly missed by me and all of his colleagues at Missouri MUFON. It was a pleasure working with him over the years. James was a very thorough field investigator for MUFON, and completed multiple reports. He also served as a Section Director for SW Missouri, and Chief MADAR Analyst. James also worked with investigators from other states to help solve problems. We will miss his compelling stories as well. Rest in Peace, Jim.
