Jackie was born February 6, 1926 in Protem, Missouri, the daughter of John and Ida Brown. After graduating high school, Jackie moved to Kansas City, Missouri where she married Duel J. Warren on November 14, 1949. They started their family in 1954. After working a few jobs such as Linwood Ice Cream, Vita Craft Corp and Menorah Hospital she settled in to a civil service position with the Federal Government where she retired at the age of 60.
Jackie loved music and was surrounded by musicians her entire life. She started out going to the clubs and supporting the bands that her husband Duel played in through the years. Later in life, both of her kids grew up to be musicians and played in bands, she loved going to the shows, watching and supporting them in their musical careers. She never missed a gig!!!!!
Jackie was a diehard Chiefs fan. She would look forward to their games all week, and then dressed in her Chief’s shirt she watched every game with the enthusiasm of a kid. She would write down the scores after each game and track their progress to the end of the season.
Family and friends was everything to Jackie. She loved spending time with them all. Whether it was family reunions, holidays, birthdays or just quiet times visiting one on one, she never missed an opportunity to spend time with them.
She was preceded in death by her husband Duel Warren, her son Dennis Warren, her father and mother John and Ida Brown, her brothers Mylo Brown, Otis Brown, Woodrow Brown and Bobby Brown, her sisters Tressie Paschal and Glessie Thornton. She is survived by her son Jerry Warren, her daughter Karen Warren, her sisters Jean Young and Wilma Jenkins, her grandchildren Kim Warren Johnson, Christopher Warren, Travis Warren and Steven McElroy and 10 great-grandchildren, Ashley, Caleb, Christian, Sammie, Kaylee, Joey, Skylar, Mason, Christina and Brandon.
A Visitation will be held from 10:00am to 11:00am followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00am on Saturday, January 5 at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home located at 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri. Burial will follow in Mount Moriah Cemetery South.
