I. Leon (Lee) Kraft passed away on September 1, 2010 at Kansas City Hospice Center. Graveside services will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 5, 2010 at Mt. Moriah Cemetery, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri. Visitation will be from 1:30-3:00 pm. at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home. Lee was born in Kansas City on August 4, 1918 to Molly and Alex Kraft, the fourth of four children. He graduated from Kansas City Law School. He was a member of Missouri and Kansas City Bar Associations. He will be remembered as an outstanding trial lawyer, mentor to many attorneys, advocate for the underdog and always a gentleman. He served in the United States Army during World War II in the European theatre and was awarded two Bronze Stars. He married Inez E. (Dolly) Kraft in September, 1942. She predeceased him in 2003. He is survived by his children Ronald L. Kraft (Natalie) of Leawood, Kansas and Nancy K. Weiss of Phoenix, Arizona, four grandchildren David Kraft, Adam (Melissa) Kraft, Julie (Johnnie) Brown and Susan Eisman, six great-grandchildren, his sister Ann Studna of Kansas City, Missouri and Lee’s extended family, Libby (Andy) Banks, Laura (David) Simmons, Megan (Tom) Patterson, Rebecca Hougland, their children, and many nieces and nephews.
