Harold M Early, 92, Gladstone, MO, passed away Oct. 25, 2015. Funeral service will be Thursday, Oct. 29, 2015 at 12:00 Noon at McGilley Antioch Chapel, 3325 NE Vivion Road, Kansas City. A visitation will precede the service from 11:00-12:00. Burial to follow at Terrace Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Fairview Christian Church.
Mr. Early was born June 17, 1923 in the Rockingham Community, near Hardin, MO, the son of Jesse A and Maggie E Early. He attended school in the Central School District and graduated from Central High School. He was a member of the Rockingham Church of the Brethren during his early years. In 1943, Mr. Early enlisted in the Naval Reserve Flight Officers Training Program and was commissioned as an Ensign in 1945.
Mr. Early was married to Lenora Faye Minnick June 3, 1945. They made their home in Hardin, Mo where he was employed with the Consumers Co-op for five years. He was a Charter Member of the Hardin American Legion Post and served as the first Post Commander. Harold’s family moved to the Kansas City Area in 1952. He was employed by Ford Motor Company, Claycomo, MO until his retirement in 1978. Harold was a member of Fairview Christian Church and served as a deacon for many years. He was honored by being named a “deacon emeritus.” He and Faye enjoyed travelling, boating and many, many hours of fishing at Lake of the Ozarks and Smithville Lake. He enjoyed volunteer work in the community.
Mr. Early is survived by his wife of 70 years, Faye; sons Randy (Linda) and Terry (Sharon); daughter Diana (Rick) Saviano; granddaughter Allison (Tim) Rattay and their three daughters, Riley, Taylor and Sloane; and his sister, Vera. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Maggie Early, sisters Grace (Roy), Ethel (Melvin) and Ruth; and brothers Clarence and Lloyd.
Harold will be greatly missed as he was a man with patience, kindness and gentleness. He was a fine husband and a great father.
