Harold was born on October 5, 1932 and lived his entire life in the Johnson County area. He attended school in his younger years in one of the original single classroom schools in southern Johnson County. He later attended high school in the building that currently houses the Administrative offices for the Blue Valley School District.
Harold had various occupations throughout his lifetime including owning his own company burying cable lines. He also drove a school bus and worked for Stanley Equipment as a driver, but the job that he cherished more than any was being a firefighter for Overland Park for 42 years, the first 6-7 of those years as a volunteer. He retired at the age of 65 as a Captain.
Harold was one of the most loving, kindhearted, selfless individuals a person could have the gift of knowing. He always had a smile on his face and if you were having a bad day, he could make you forget about it instantly. He was a true picture of what pure love looks like. Everyone that had the pleasure of knowing him would tell you so. He will be missed terribly by his family and friends.
Harold was preceded in death by his mother, father, sister and several of his closest friends. He is survived by his wife Julie Beach, his stepdaughter Heather Jensen and his stepson Matthew Jensen, along with multiple family members including two daughters from his first marriage.
