Haddock C (HC) Snyder Jr, 77, passed away from complications of Parkinson’s Disease on January 8, 2023.
He was born to the late H. Carroll and DeEtta Lafferty Snyder on December 9, 1945. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sherrlene Snyder. His sisters are Sherry Snyder, Karen (Fred) Williams, and Toni Snyder, niece Alan (Keith) Clevenger and grand-niece Eden Clevenger. His brother-in-law is Grigg (Susan) Haws and nephew Jonathan (Amanda) Haws and grand-niece Raelynn.
He graduated from Fort Osage High School in 1963. He attend CMSU. In 1969 he began his teaching career at the CMSU Residence Center in Independence. In 1981 he moved to Michigan to teach Physics at SC4 for 33 years. He was Chair of the Math, Science and PE Department. He earned the Blessinger Award and the Distinguished Faculty Award for excellence in teaching. He served 2 terms on the Port Huron City Council (1991-1995). He was active in the Friends of the Library, the Museum, NAACP Port Huron Branch and Blue Water Citizens Against Crime.
