Our beloved wife and mother, Gwendolyn Gaye (Noble) Wolf passed from this life to eternal life on Sunday the 25th of September at her home. She was born in Los Angeles, California, on April 15th of 1941 to Marion Francis and Mary Virginia (Bradley) Noble. She married her high school sweetheart, George Edgar Wolf Jr., in 1960. After attending college at the University of Missouri, they moved to Fort Sill, Oklahoma, where they lived for two years, as he served in the army, and had their first child, George Edgar III. They then moved back to Missouri where they lived in Springfield and had their second child, David Christopher. They later moved to Kansas City, where they had their third child, Mary Melissa. Gwen devoted her life to her family and was a stay-at-home mother for most of those years. She always said her biggest achievement was having raised three fine children.
She noted that every day was a gift as she shared in the experiences and lives of their three children, and then with the arrival of their seven grandchildren, and ultimately a great-grandchild.
She was a business owner of For Safety Sake, a safety and security retail shop, and later an office manager at a home design business where she said she “dabbled” professionally in home design and was pleased to have something published in a magazine.
She enjoyed keeping diaries, writing poems, and short stories. She noted that her happy place was on the sofa with her beloved, “Eddie,” holding hands or sitting in her garden in the backyard that she always referred to as her own little “New Orleans.”
Her faith legacy was strong, as she often talked of her faith and prayed daily for those around her. She recently wrote in a journal to her children and grandchildren: “My deepest values are belief and faith in God, family commitments and values, honesty and trust, love, tenderness and kindness.”
She was our wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, all titles that she wore with deep devotion. She is survived by her husband, children George (Deena) Wolf, Chris (Carrie) Wolf, and Melissa (Kevin) Hardin; her treasured grandchildren Jacob (Laurel) Wolf, Hannah Wolf, David Wolf, John Wolf, Sarah (Sam) Prickett, Sophie Hardin, and Catie Hardin; her first great-grandbaby, Grace Wolf; her siblings Judith (Jon) Fowler, Bob (Carol) Noble, Jane Noble; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Marion and Mary Noble.
