Geraldine “Jeri” Scanlon passed away at Kanas City Hospice House on Oct. 12, 2017. She was born on Oct. 31, 1941 in Kansas City to Flaven and Mildred Welch. She will be fondly remembered for her sense of humor and abundant generosity. She graduated from St. Teresa’s Academy and received a bachelor’s degree from Avila College. Jeri took great pride in her work as a medical technologist and loved working with her colleagues at Quest. She enjoyed a weekly bridge game at Panera with her dear friends. Also, her loving classmates from St. Teresa’s brought her much happiness. Her greatest source of joy was her beloved family. She was very proud of each of her siblings and their spouses.
She leaves behind her sisters and brothers in law Mary and Bill, Anne and Mark and Barbara and Rick. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Flavia and brothers Ed and Cas. She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Kelley, and son-in-law Steve as well as her grandchildren Molly, Joey and Nick. She was a wonderful mother and grandma.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kansas City Hospice House. Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, Oct. 22 from 2-4pm at McGilley State Line Chapel, 12301 State Line Road.
