Geraldine Stone Mullen, age 84, passed away peacefully at the John Knox Village Care Center on June 10, 2012 after a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Rd., at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 13, 2012. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral services.
Geraldine, better known as Jerry, was born on December 2, 1927 in Independence, MO. Her father worked at the Ford plant for many years. Although, Jerry was raised in Independence, MO, she frequently visited her family’s hometown of Marshfield, MO. Jerry attended Southwest Baptist College in Bolivar, MO. She worked for Amoco Oil for 22 years and took an early retirement to pursue her interest in antiques and collectibles. Jerry was an antique dealer at the Waldo Flea Market for 18 years. She specialized in all forms of collectible paper products including advertisements, posters, greeting cards, paper dolls, holiday memorabilia. Her favorite holidays included Halloween, Easter, and Christmas.
Jerry married John Edward Mullen October 18, 1958. They enjoyed taking many trips to Europe. Their favorite hotels welcomed them back many times. Her beloved husband John died in 2004. She is, also, preceded in death by her parents Garland and Norma Stone. She is survived by her cousins, Teddy and Bill Jackson of Blue Springs, MO, Jay and Shirley Alexander of Charlotte, NC, and a host of family and friends.
