He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, cousin, uncle, and friend. He was born on November 29, 1958 in Kansas City, Missouri. He was the son of Albert George and Gloria Dean (Ferris) Eddy. He graduated from Center High School. From a young age he worked alongside family at Eddy's restaurant at the downtown and South Kansas City locations. While working at Sprint as a System Administer he met his future wife, Shannan Marie Kelly and they were married on September 3, 1999.
George was a family man, there was no task he couldn’t complete or problem he couldn’t fix. He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs and Mizzou fan. He never missed a game and made sure to attend the Super Bowl Championship Parades in Kansas City. He had a passion for history and took great pride in sharing old stories with family and friends. On family vacations, George would plan family visits to historical locations and museums. In his spare time he enjoyed watching old films and researching Kansas City history.
George was preceded in death by his father, Albert George Eddy.
He is survived by his wife, Shannan Kelly Eddy, daughter, Kaylah Eddy, sons, Matthew and Kyle Eddy, mother, Gloria Dean Eddy, sister, Sharla and her two daughters, Deena Ruiz and Alyssa Sparhawk, and numerous extended family.
A visitation for George will be held Wednesday, July 12, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Church of the Nativity, 3800 W. 119th Street, Leawood, KS 66209 with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 AM at the Church. Burial at Mt. Moriah Cemetery South, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO 64131.
