Genevieve “Genny” Montes, 73 of KCMO, passed away July 10, 2016 at KU Medical Center. Visitation will be held 5-6:30 p.m. with Rosary at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, July 15 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine, 901 Cesar Chavez Ave. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 9:30 a.m. on Saturday at the Shrine with burial to follow in Mt Olivet Cemetery, KCMO. In lieu of flowers donations may be offered to Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine.
Genny was born on Sept. 19, 1942 in Kansas City, MO to Rudolph and Mary (Bernal) Paredes. She is survived by her husband, Larry; her mother; son, Jr. Montes; daughters, Suzanne DeLeon (Sam) and Tricia Montes; brothers, Rudy Paredes (Joyce), Bobby Paredes (Teresa), and Ralph Paredes (Elida); sisters, Mary Helen Coleman (Charles) and Hope Ortiz; grandchildren, Brianna, Julia, Alex, Jonathan, Samantha, John, Santina, Marisa, and Matthew; and two great-grandchildren, Kirra and Annabella. Genny will be missed by all who knew her.
