Gene C. Moore

In Memory of Cleon Eugene R. Moore (Gene) January 3, 1927 – July 3, 2017 Obituary Gene C. Moore, 90, joined his wife at rest on July 3, 2017. He was born on January 3, 1927 in Kansas City, MO. His beloved wife, Marie (Smith) Moore, preceded his death in 2014. Additionally, preceding his death were, Walter C. Moore, father in 1950, Emma F. (Pasdach) Moore, mother in 1940, and Marguerite (Moore) Paskon, sister in 1991. At the age of 13 (1940), Gene attended Andrew Drumm Farm, Independence, MO. He studied farming, livestock and agriculture. He was awarded many ribbons and recognitions for excellence in his studies. He graduated from East High School, Kansas City, MO, in 1946. Gene was a pilot and loved airplanes, trains, farming, gardening, fishing, boating, camping and most any outdoor activities. Gene began working as an auto mechanic in 1947 for Hall-Ware Ford Service in Kansas City, before moving to Oklahoma City in 1949 where he worked for Krone’s Garage until returning to Kansas City in 1955. Upon returning to Kansas City, Gene opened his own auto repair service “Gene’s Auto Service”. He later worked for Kansas City Motors, Comfort Equipment Company, Holden, Missouri and as a design draftsman, for Jensen Engineering, where he would retire as a consultant for Quaker Oats in St. Joseph, Missouri. Gene married Marie (Smith) Moore on June 7, 1947. Together they had 7 children, Denny Moore and wife Kathy, Punta Gorda, FL. Mike Moore, Raytown MO, Jerry Moore, Bates City, MO, Randy Moore, Raytown, MO, Linda Smith and husband Steve, Raymore, MO, Marvin Moore, Lee's Summit, MO, Theresa Moore, Centerview, MO. There are eighteen grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Friday, July 7, 2017 at Floral Hills Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 2 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Internment will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
