Gayle was born October 13, 1935 in Altamont, Missouri to Cecil and Ruth (Morrison) Black.
She graduated from Winston High and immediately went to work at Sears, Roebuck & Company on the Country Club Plaza and worked there for 50 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Earl Miller; her parents; her brother Wayne and nephew Mark Black. Gayle is survived by her children Scott Hunter and Kelly Hunter; step-children Julie and Pat Miller; her grandchildren Shannon, Sarah, Jennifer, Danielle, David and Desiree and her 11 great-grandchildren.
She was a member of Holmeswood Baptist Church, joining on October 13, 1996. Gayle was an avid bowler. She was the best left-handed bowler in Kansas City in her prime. She was fond of traveling and participated in 26 consecutive years at the USBC National Bowling Tournaments. She was also a volunteer for Grace Hospice for 4 years.

A Visitation for Gayle will be held on Monday, October 4, 2021 from 1:00pm to 2:00pm followed by a Funeral Service at 2:00pm at the Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road in Kansas City, MO 64131. Committal will follow in Mount Moriah Cemetery South.
