Gary was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota to parents James and Elaenor Twigg. He is survived by siblings Teri North of Palmetto, Florida; Larry and Sylvia Twigg of Neenah, Wisconsin; Jerry and Jennifer Twigg of Acworth, Georgia; Tom and Sheri Holden of Lithia, Florida.
Gary married the love of his life, who he now joins in heaven Cheryl Twigg in April of 1983. Together they had three sons who he loved dearly. Bradlee Twigg and wife Stephanie with son Jameson and a daughter on the way; Brett Twigg with son Brett Jr.; Bryce Twigg and wife Katie with sons Brody and Blayze.
Growing up Gary loved any and all sports, he played basketball, baseball, football, and ran cross country. Alongside his brothers, he would head neighborhood football games across from their house on Dixie Street in Liberty, Missouri. He was also a proud Boy Scout of America and went on to share this love with his sons. Gary attended Liberty High School where he hosted a foreign exchange student Yushiro Narita from Japan. Gary enjoyed going with his siblings and parents to William Jewell to watch the Kansas City Chiefs practice and attending games — he was truly a life long Kansas City Chiefs fan!
Gary shared his love of sports with his three sons and if he wasn't coaching or umpiring he was often seen standing in the crowd cheering on the team and making everyone laugh with his witty humor. He was involved in many different professions. His last endeavor was with DS Bus Lines where he made many great friends and enjoyed his days of driving the children to school and seeing their smiling faces.
The family hopes Gary lives on through his contagious smile and laugh, fond memories, and love he shared.
