The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10am Friday, February 23rd at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, burial in Mt Washington Cemetery. A visitation is scheduled from 4-8pm Thursday, February 22nd at the McGilley Antioch Chapel where a rosary will be prayed at 4 PM. The family suggests donations to the Yañez Family Memorial Scholarship at St. Pius X High School (link below).
Francisca was born in Morelia, Michoacan, Mexico on April 3, 1927, to Antonio and Marceline Ruiz Canchola. After her family immigrated to the United States, she attended grade school and high school at St. Patrick’s Catholic School in Parsons, KS. She became an RN through the Army Cadet Nursing program. She married her husband of 63 years Ruben and was an active member of the parishes to which she belonged. She was an active member of the Red Cross volunteer nurse program.
Francisca is remembered for her smile, love of family, friends, faith, music, and many volunteer services to others. She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter Marta Ludwig; and her husband Ruben Yañez. She is survived by her children & spouses Fabian & Delaine Yañez, Adrian Yañez, Dan & Janet Yañez, Mary & Steve Reichert, Brian & Laura Yañez, Damian & Cathy Yañez, Sabin & Angel Yañez, Florian & Julie Yañez and son-in-law Keith Ludwig; 26 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her identical twin sister Carmen and siblings Esperanza, Jesse, Josie, Stella, sister in laws Juanita and Teresa and many, many nieces, and nephews.
Francisca loved completely and compassionately and was an inspiration every day to those who were blessed to know her.
