Frankie loved her family and treasured any time she was able to spend with them. They could always expect to find her in her rocking chair with a book or crossword puzzle in hand. She was devout in her faith and loved listening to her favorite hymns and spending time at church, including many years spent as the cook at the church daycare. She loved being in the kitchen, cooking and baking for her family. Her grandchildren still frequently ask for "Mema's recipes" to this day.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters, one brother, and husband Gerald McCollum.
She is survived by her three daughters Stephanie (Pat) Goodfellow, Delorse (Maury) Sword, Jeri Evans, grandchildren Brett Goodfellow, Megan Sword, Jessica (Brady) Hissong, Jamie Evans, great-grandchildren Palmer and Brelynn Hissong, and brother Richard Johnston.
Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in her honor.
A visitation for Frances will be held Thursday, December 28, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Newcomer's Floral Hills Funeral Home (7000 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64133). The funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM followed by a graveside service at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens (Same address).
