Florence Evelyn Wisner

Florence Evelyn Wisner went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 10, 2023. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her family was her pride and joy. She loved to take care of everyone and was an incredible cook. She enjoyed watching her grandsons play a variety of sports from little league to college and never missed a game.

Florence was born on June 23, 1936 to J.O. and Lucille Wynne in Jamison, MO. She graduated from Hamilton High School in 1954. She was united in marriage to Gene Wisner on April 28, 1956. They were blessed with two sons, two grandsons and three great-grandchildren.

She worked in the business department at Sears in the 1950's and 1960's. She began work for the Raytown school district in the late 1960's so she could have the summers off to be with her sons. She was employed there for more than 30 years. While still working for the school district, Florence was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1996 and other than her surgery and her chemo treatments, she never missed a day of work. Her sons always told her she was "tougher than a $2.00 steak".

Florence is survived by her husband Gene, sons Ed (Vickie) and Fred (Jana), grandsons Brian and Greg (Darin), great-grandsons Alex and Parker, great-granddaughter Finley, sister Ginny (Frank) Kidd. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers Boyd, John, and Chuck.

In Lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society in Florence's memory.

A Visitation for Florence will take place Thursday, March 16, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Floral Hills Funeral Home (7000 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64133). The funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM and will be followed by a procession to the Graveside Committal Service at Floral Hills East Memorial Gardens (25203 E 50 Hwy, Lee's Summit, MO 64086).
