Florence Margaret Asel

Florence was born March 8, 1923 in Syracuse, New York to Henry and Audrey Kogler. She worked in bookkeeping at Bendix. She was a member of numerous bridge groups and an investment group.

Florence was always as sharp as a tack. She was a big Facebook fan and read books and news on her iPad. She loved her family and friends, and we loved her back. She was an honorary grandma to Wendy who said, “She had a good life, filled with big red hair, BMWs and Sonic hamburgers.”

Florence was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Stewart Gray and her husband Arthur E. Asel, brother Henry Kogler, sister-in-law Hazel Kogler, step-daughter Penny Asel Besecke, step-son Christopher Gray, numerous dogs named Louie, dog Cece and various cats.

She is survived by niece Anne Szlivko (Chip), nephew Paul Kogler (Ginna), great-nephew Christian Kogler, step-daughters Ann Asel, Kathy O’Bryhim (Mike), Andrea and Adrienne Gray, step-son Mark Wagner, step-grandchildren Leslie (Anish), Kelly, Tim and Brendan (Iris), step-great-grandchildren Alyson, Julia, Evan and Hendrix and special friends Ruthie and Wendy. She is also survived by dog Scooter, who loved and protected her.

Services will be held at Mt. Moriah, 10507 Holmes Road on Friday, September 28 at 12:45PM. Reception afterward at Ann Asel’s home nearby. Directions will be provided at the service.
