Etta Louise Reed

Visitation services will be held from 6-8pm on Monday, June 13, 2016 at Floral Hills Funeral Home. Etta was a lifelong resident of Independence, Mo and graduated from William Chrisman High School in 1953. Upon graduation she worked at Interstate Securities in Kansas City until her marriage in 1955 when she became a stay at home wife and mother. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was an avid bird watcher and a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Independence, Mo. Etta is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Charles C. Reed, five brothers and two great grandchildren. She is survived by her sister, Mildred Duncan, four children; Steven Reed and his wife Lynda, Bruce Reed and his wife Debbie, Kathleen Melton and her husband David, and Andrew Reed and his wife Jennifer, nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
