Mickey, or "Mick" as his brothers called him, was born on May 30, 1941 in Kansas City, Missouri. He was the son of James C. and Lou B. (Wheeler) Anderson. He grew up in Kansas City and graduated from Center High School. He worked as a Retail Sales Clerk at Payless Grocery Stores for many years. He married his soul-mate, Betty, in 1989 and she preceded him in death.
He served in the United States Air Force as a Supply Sergeant from 1966 to 1969. His fellows affectionately called him Sarge.
He liked to sing Karaoke and ride his 3-wheel bicycle while he was living in Sun City, Arizona. He and Betty loved to dance together and he was an avid bowler.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Jack Sanel, his wife, Betty, and his sister, Donna Ray.
He is survived by his brothers, Jim Anderson and Jerome Anderson, nieces, Sherri Ketterer and husband, Bill and Denise Ray and Babette Boudreaux and husband, Michael, and nephews, Chris Anderson and wife, Nancy, Brian Ray and wife, Shannon, and Marc Ray.
Visitation for Mickey will be from 12:00 to 1:00 pm on Friday, December 2, 2022 followed by the funeral services at 1:00 pm at Mt Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64131. Burial with full military honors at Mount Moriah Cemetery South.
