It was a wild 1945 in Evansville, IN, when Eric Ross Sorenson was born to Katherine and Charles Sorenson. A graduate of the Kansas City Art Institute, he was an illustrator for the U.S. Air Force. The Park Hill School Board benefited from his 12 years of service and his advocacy for the arts. He loved music, skydiving, history, and restoring his rat rod. He died July 28, 2012. He is survived by his children, Gavin, Kirsten, and Erica and his brother, Charlie. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 2 at McGilley Antioch Chapel in KCMO. A military service will be at Ft. Leavenworth National Cemetery the following week. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Kansas City Veterans Administration Hospital in his name.
