Eric was born and raised in Kansas City. He received a Catholic education at Our Lady of Lourdes in Raytown and St. Louis schools in Kansas City. Shortly after graduating from Raytown South High School, he went to work for The Kansas City Water Services. There, he enjoyed his job and was recognized as a valued employee.
During this time, he supported our dad, Milas “C” at the Circle C Ranch in South Kansas City where he daily cared for the horses and other duties on the family property. Eric was a hard worker and stayed busy supporting the family business, Curl’s Building Maintenance, Inc. until our dad’s retirement.
Eric was strong and good with his hands, and he loved to work on various projects and jobs in and around the community. Most importantly, Eric provided emotional support to our mother Dorothy, who is now 99 years old.
Eric was a kind person with a genuine heart. He was loved by so many people and he will be greatly missed by those who truly knew him. He was known by some simply as “E”.
He was preceded in death by his father, Milas C Curl Sr. and his niece Ashley Re Curl. He leaves his mother Dorothy Curl, his son Eric Jr, brothers Miles Jr. “Rick” (Ann), Bruce of Kansas City and sister Jackie of Flagler Beach, Florida, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Services will be held on Tuesday, April 23rd. Visitation: 10:30 am to 12:00 pm, Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64131; Rosary and Blessing from Fr Justin Hoye of St. Thomas More Parish; Reflections by Family and Friends will follow at 12:00pm.
