Elisabeth (Betty) Louise (Rogan) Collins, 82, passed away peacefully at T. Boone Pickens Hospice and Palliative Care Center surrounded by her family in Dallas, Texas on December 14, 2021. She was born to the late Edward J. and Mary V. (Good) Rogan on March 6, 1939 in Boston, Massachusetts. She is preceded in death by her husband, Warren Arch Collins, parents, and a cherished aunt, Louise (Rogan) Holmes, and sister-in-law, Eleanor (Twomey) Rogan.
Betty graduated from Newton High School before attending Newton-Wellesley School of Nursing. She spent 25 years working as a nurse at North Kansas City Hospital and received the Missouri State Board of Nursing Gold Certificate in 2013 commemorating 50 years of service as a registered professional nurse. She was a parishioner at St. Charles Borromeo Church and enjoyed volunteering at Home Health after her retirement.
Betty is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Ann (Collins) Smith and her husband Tony of Frisco, Texas and Teresa Lynn (Collins) Jones and her husband David of Dallas, Texas and granddaughters, Meagan Renee (Smith) McAleavey and her husband Mike of Royse City, Texas and Caitlyn Collins Jones of Dallas, Texas, and one great-grandson, Landon Thomas McAleavey. She is also survived by her beloved sister, Maureen (Rogan) Deeley and her husband Paul of Needham, Massachusetts; brothers, Edward Rogan of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Robert J. Rogan and his wife Beth of Newtonville, Massachusetts. She is also survived by nine nieces and nephews, eleven great-nieces and nephews, three cousins, a dear sister-in-law, Doris Collins, and her longtime companion, Victor Clevenger of Independence, Missouri.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Kansas City, Missouri, on Tuesday, December 21, 2021, beginning at 11:00 a.m., viewable at https://www.youtube.com/stcharlesborromeoparishkansascity
