A funeral service for El will be held Wednesday, August 25, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at McGilley Antioch Chapel, 3325 Northeast Vivion Road, Kansas City, MO 64119. A graveside service will occur Wednesday, August 25, 2021 from 3:15 PM to 3:30 PM at Second Creek Cemetery, 4214 NW Cookingham Drive, Kansas City, MO 64164. A visitation will occur Wednesday, August 25, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, 3325 Northeast Vivion Road, Kansas City, MO 64119.
Eleanora Marie Dodd had a deep faith in her lord Jesus Christ and would spend a lot of her days reading her bible, watching pastors on TV and listening to gospel music. She loved her family more than life itself and every grandchild & great grandchild was the topic on many occasions throughout her days. Eleanora was licensed beautician since her sons were little, but she retired from Henry Worst Printing in North Kansas City. Her passion and hobby were taking care of her family. You could not leaver her house unless she fed you. It didn’t matter if you were family or friends, she would try to feed you something.
Eleanora Marie Dodd – El was born in Kansas City, MO on 24th August 1929 to her Mother Lora Nettie C. Martin and Paternal Father Clinton A Spoor, Jr.
Her mother, Lora, divorced Clinton and remarried her stepfather Archibald "Arch" C. Cochran on 19 October 1933. She had one brother (Wayne Spoor) and one stepsister (Mildred Jean Cochran) and two stepbrothers (Archie Ray Cochran & Eugene Cochran) at the time. Their family grew to where she had two younger sisters (Sue Cochran and Carol Cochran) and 2 younger brothers (Samuel Cochran & Ollie Cochran).
Eleanora M. Dodd and Edgar Wayne Dodd married on 28th February 1959 in her in-law’s house (Carl Dodd & Maggie Dodd) in Kansas City, Missouri. She and Edgar raised their 3 sons.
El is preceded in death by her mother Lora, her father Clinton, stepfather Arch, brother Wayne, stepbrothers Archie Ray & Eugene, sister Carol, and brother Sam; as well as one granddaughter Emma Dodd.
Eleanora is survived by her 3 Sons and their spouses: Sherman Edward Dodd (Katherine Dodd), Dale Wayne Dodd (Barbara Dodd) and Roger Lee Dodd (Sherri Dodd); her sister Sue and Brother Ollie.
Eleanora has 11 grandchildren (and spouses): Jeremy Dodd, Shawna Ruperd (John Ruperd), Winston Dodd (Alisha), Shannon Dodd, Erica Caples, Ryan Cartwright (Kelsey Stewart), Ethan Dodd (Ciciley), Cody Dodd, Hannah Dodd, Courtney Dodd, & Caleb Dodd. Eight Great-grandchildren: Nathaniel Holthe (Khelci Holthe), Denise, Katelynn Dodd, Peyton, Charlotte and Korvin, Codi Caples, & Layla Cartwright.
