A visitation for Ed will take place at Floral Hills Funeral Home (7000 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64133) at 1:00 PM on Monday, November 28th, 2022. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM and will be followed by a graveside committal at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens (Same address).
Ed was born May 14th, 1925 in Chicago, Illinois. He married Joyce Mertell in May of 1946 after returning from naval duty in WWII. They were married for 68 years when Joyce passed in 2014. He worked as a union journeyman sign painter until retirement in 1987. Ed was a deacon, taught Sunday school, sang in the choir, and served in many other capacities at Rockwood Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings. Survivors include his son Lance (Nancy), daughter Dawn Shepherd (Randy), daughter Lianne Sackett (Kirk), son Ryan (Pam), 14 grandchildren, and 31 great-grandchildren.
He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
