Eddie Dean Powell

Eddie Dean Powell, age 64, entered the presence of Jesus on November 24, 2021 surrounded by loved ones. Ed was born on May 16, 1957 in Levelland, TX to Richard Van Powell and Charline Powell. He was married on February 10, 1979 to Rhonda Jean (Brown) Powell in Osceola, MO. He and Rhonda moved to the Kansas City area in the early 80’s and lived out the rest of his days there. Ed loved his Lord & Savior with all of his heart, and that overflowed in the way he raised his kids, the way he loved others and the church. His smile would light up any room and his wit would fill it with laughter. He was preceded in death by his mom, Charline Powell, his in-laws, Rex and Carolyn Brown, and his nephew, John Harlin Powell. Ed is survived by his wife, Rhonda Powell; his dad, Richard Powell; his sister, Debbie (Herb) Collins; his brother, Rick (Jan) Powell; his son, Ashley (Melissa) Powell; his daughter, Raylene (Scott) Tormanen; and his 5 beautiful grand-babies, Olivia Powell, Emma Tormanen, Harper Powell, Jackson Powell, and Ethan Tormanen. The visitation will be held at Fellowship Church - Greenwood on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at 10am. The funeral service is immediately after at 11am, and Ed will be laid to rest at Floral Hills East Memorial Gardens in Lee’s Summit, MO at the conclusion of the services. Dad’s faith is now sight, and in that we rejoice and find great comfort.

A visitation for Eddie will be held Wednesday, December 1, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Fellowship of Greenwood, 1601 W. Main St., Greenwood, MO 64034. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at 11:00 AM, 1601 W. Main St, Greenwood, MO 64034. A committal service will occur Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at 9693 - Floral Hills East Mem Gardens, 25203 E. US HWY 50, Lee's Summit, MO 64086.
