Dorothy Smith, 93, of Lawrence, Kansas passed away on July 9, 2016 in Lawrence, Kansas. Visitation will be 10:00AM Friday, July 15, 2016 with a funeral service to follow at 11:00AM at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer, and Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Rd., Kansas City, MO 64131 with Pastor Linda Jenkins officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
Dorothy Smith was born in Osawatomie, Kansas to Elmer and Hazel Floyd on August 26, 1922 and went to Osawatomie High. She attended Penn Valley for 2 years and then went on to graduate from Ottawa University. She was married and a homemaker.
Dorothy is survived by a son Ronald Johnson, a daughter Roberta Skannal, sister Daisy Blackburn, 4 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren, along with a host of nieces and nephews.
