Dorothy Mae Lester

February 1, 1926 – March 3, 2023

Proverbs 31:31

“Honor her for all that her hands have done and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.”

Dorothy was born in Springfield, Missouri to Arthur and Elsie Owen who were married 72 years before they passed. She moved to Kansas City in 1933. Dorothy was married to Albert E. Gash who passed away in 1972. She was a charter member of Norfleet Baptist church where she loved working in the church library. Dorothy loved her family, gardening, and attending church. Later in her life she remarried to William Lester.

She was preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Elsie Owen, husband Albert Gash, Brother Ed Owen, and husband William Lester. Dorothy has two children. Her son Joel A. Gash and wife Nancy and her daughter Cindy Gash O’Hara and husband Mike. Six grandchildren. Cheri Gash Bonsignore and husband Matt, Joe McChan, Stacy Gash and wife Cecelia, Patrick O’Hara and wife Athena, Chris Ross and wife Christina and Casey O’Hara. Nine Great-Grandchildren. Zoe Ross, Josephine Ross, Adelaide Bonsignore, Jonas Gash, Camryn Bonsignore, Casey O’Hara, Trip O’Hara, Ellsie O’Hara and Easton O’Hara. She was loved and will be missed by all.

John 16:22

Therefore you now have sorrow, but I will see you again and your hearts will rejoice and no one will take your joy from you.

Visitation will he held Friday March 10 at Floral Hills in Raytown MO from 1:00pm – 2;00pm. Followed by burial at Lee’s Summit Historical Cemetery
