As a child, Dorothy and her parents lived in the Missouri towns of Meada and Sedalia, before moving to the northeast neighborhood in Kansas City, Missouri. After she graduated from Manual High School (1942) she attended and graduated from Southwest Baptist College in Bolivar, Missouri (1942-1944) where she was named Miss Southwest Baptist. She worked at Montgomery Wards, the Federal Reserve Bank and Russell Stover Candies before she married Lynn Gregg at Bethany Baptist Church in Kansas City. Dorothy met the challenge of raising four children with Lynn who was in the Navy where they traveled and lived in many parts of the country. Dorothy was a devoted servant of God and was an active member of Baptist Churches. She would do extensive research from various books, and of course the Bible, in preparation for teaching Sunday School. Dorothy also did professional seamstress work and was known for her creative designs. After Lynn passed away in 2006 she moved to the Armour Oaks retirement center in Kansas City.
