Donna Fitzwater

Donna Fitzwater, 74, Kansas City, Missouri, passed away November 25, 2015. Visitation from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 1 with funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 2, at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri. Burial will follow in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.

Donna Sue Joiner (Ducky) was born in Seymour, Missouri on June 11, 1941 to loving parents, Elmer and Anna Joiner. Along with her siblings, E.J., Ruth, Shirley, Paul, Caroline and Ruby they had a large, fun-loving family and remained close her entire life.

She married the loved of her life, Bob Fitzwater in 1960. They had four children, Anna, Dwight, Edward and Michael. She was a very devoted mother. Donna supported her children in school, sports and everything that mattered to them. She was blessed with her grandchildren Angie, Robbie, Rebecca, P.J., Justin, Thomas, Jarett and Melissa, and she was able to meet her newborn great-granddaughter Lottie. They all brought joy and light into her life.

What Donna loved most about people was the chance to befriend them in their need, to ease their pain, even though it sometimes magnified her own. She touched all of our lives. She made us laugh, and amazed us with her bravery, her devotion to God, and her devotion to us. She had a wonderful, feisty and fun-loving way of looking at life. She will always be in our hearts.

She is now joined with her loved ones who preceded her in death; her husband Bob, her parents, a brother and a sister, mother-in-law and father-in-law, and many other people she loved. She is survived by her loving children, grandchildren, great-granddaughter, extended family and friends.
