Don was born on February 6, 1938, to Efton Cary Robbins and Marjorie Maxine (Spain) Robbins in Kansas City, Missouri. After graduating from Central High School in Kansas City, Missouri, in 1955, he went on to study industrial engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He subsequently earned an MBA degree from the University of Kansas City.
Don married Janet Kathryn Brown on February 12, 1966. Together, they had three sons, Scott A. Robbins, Christopher L. Robbins and Kevin D. Robbins. Don worked for many years in the paper box industry. Despite his long hours worked, he always had time for sporting events with his sons and enjoyed raising and promoting Morgan horses with his uncle, Loy D. Robbins. He supported his family throughout the many accomplishments and difficulties of our lives. When Don wasn't working or spending time with his family, he could be found golfing with his friend, Gary Stumpenhaus.
Don was predeceased in death by his parents, and his sister, Susie Hill. He is survived by his wife, Janet; his children, Scott (Devona), Chris, and Kevin (Lynne); and five grandchildren, Joy Grace, Josiah David, Kenneth, Bonny and Michael.
The family requests any memorial gifts be made to Samaritan’s Purse International Relief.
