Dominic Palacio

Dominic M. Palacio, 15, of Kansas City, Kansas died at his home surrounded by his family. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at Holy Name Church, Southwest Blvd and Iowa. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the church, with the Rosary prayed at 6:00 p.m. The family request contributions to either Make A Wish Foundation, Metcalf 103 Shopping Center , 7000 W. 105th Street, Overland Park, KS 66212 or UTRL Foundation, Inc., 18242 Bus. Dominic was born on September 6, 1996 in Kansas City, Missouri to Manuel and Yvette (Cisneros) Palacio. He attended Holy Name School K-8, and was a freshman at Bishop Miege High School. He was an avid basketball player with the Kansas City Kings. He was a youth ambassador for Argentine community and volunteered at the Guadalupe Center. Dominic was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandfather, Ruben Orozco Sr.; maternal great- grandparents, Mickey and Angie Cisneros; paternal grandfather, Francis Vera; paternal grandmother, Juanita “Connie” Rivera; and paternal grandmother, Connie Murillo. Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Manuel and Yvette Palacio of the home; brother, Stephen Palacio; and sister, Yvette Palacio, both of the home; maternal grandparents, Victoria Cisneros and Ruben Orozco, Jr.; maternal great-grandmother, Margaret Orozco; paternal grandfather, Manuel Palacio, Jr. and wife, Carol; paternal grandmother, Susan Vera Palacio; paternal great-grandmother, Mary Vera; paternal great-grandfather, Manuel Palacio, Sr., and paternal great-grandfather, Fernando Murrillo; paternal great-grandparents, Herman and Ofie Garcia; and many, many aunts, uncles and cousins.
