Dennis M. Shepherd, 59, a lifelong resident of Kansas City, Missouri passed away May 26, 2013. Dennis was born October 24, 1953, to Edna & Tevis “Shep” Shepherd, who both preceded him in death. He attended Southwest High School. Dennis was an avid race car enthusiast and a longstanding member of NHRA. Opening his own business, D & M Tow Service in 1977, he continued its operation until 2012. Dennis will be remembered by his family and friends as a spirited individual with a gift of gab.
Dennis is survived by his son Andrew Shepherd and his mother Kristin Ward; sister Susan Shepherd and spouse David Gershon; nephew Anthony Dramshek; niece Gina Brown and her children, Chase, Ashlyn and Brooke.
A gathering of family and friends will occur at 11:00 a.m. for a graveside service Saturday, June 1, 2013, at Mt. Moriah Cemetery South, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association, 6900 College Boulevard, Suite 250, Overland Park, Kansas 66211.
