Dennis graduated from Southeast High School in 1966 and later joined the United States Navy. He eventually did two tours in Vietnam. After being discharged, Dennis joined the Kansas City Missouri Police Department, where he served for twenty-five years as a Police Officer. Additionally, he served another ten years as a Reserve Officer. Dennis also worked as Head of Security for DeVry University for 5 years, and worked at Jackson County Sheriff's Office for three years.
Preceding him in death are his parents, Charles and Ann. Surviving Dennis is his wife of 36 years, Kristie; his brother, Ronald, of Raymore, Missouri; his two grandchildren, Harper and Vohn; and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
