Denise Elaine Shulman

Denise was born in Lawrence, Kansas on March 10, 1954. She had a passion for cooking for others and catered for a while. She also had a passion for the theatre. For four years, she wrote and directed “Behold the Lamb” an Easter Pageant at Full Faith Church of Love. She was the founder of the Christian theatre group, “Sweet Rain.” Denise led the youth theatre program at West Side Family Church. Denise home schooled all three of her children.

She was preceded in death by her father L. Vernon Brown, brother Ernest Brown and granddaughter Olivia Corbin.

Denise is survived by her husband David, a daughter Leah (Andreas) Owens, two sons Joshua Shulman and Matthew (Kaitlin) Shulman, her mother Alfreida Brown, sister Patrice Brown and four grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will take place at 11:00am on Monday, August 26 at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri. Burial will follow in Mount Moriah Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Denise's name to a charity of your choice.
