She was a loving mother, devoted wife, and nicknamed “Mama Dee” to her children, their friends and friends of her own. She was heavily involved in her children’s school activities during their upbringing in Wichita, loved sewing projects and travel. Often Dee referred to herself as a displaced Kansas City girl, referring to the love of her home during high school and some years after meeting her husband, Mike. She and her husband finally moved back in January of this year. If anything creative came her way, she fully committed. This included any and all interior design projects.
She had and still has an unforgettable ‘magnetism’. Anyone and everyone who crossed paths with her felt special and loved beyond anything else. Her vivacity and spirit lives on in all who were close to her. Surely these traits will never be lost with her children and will never stop reeling in the memories of others. Mama Dee loved and she loved with all of her being. For that, she will be missed, but not forgotten. Her life will forever be celebrated, remembered, and honored.
She was preceded in death by her father and grandparents.
She is survived by husband Michael; children: Elizabeth, Rebecca, and Paul; her grandson Henry and her sister Phyllis.
