David Charles Williams was born on September 10, 1953 in Kansas City, Missouri.
His parents were the late Willie Ferguson and the late Clara Mae Washington. David was the second of eleven children born to the family. David attended Lincoln High, where he graduated in 1972. He worked at the Hereford House in Kansas City, Missouri. In 1999, David moved to Homer, Louisiana, and later became a Peer Counselor at Vision Hope in Northern Louisiana where he mentored individuals suffering from mental health disorders.
David’s hobbies included watching football, boxing, walking in the great outdoors and reading his Bible. He loved attending church and committed his life to God at a young age. David participated in several prayer groups and was a proud member of Community Praise Worship and World Outreach Center here in Kansas City, Missouri.
David leaves to cherish his memories two daughters, Kimberly Wroten and Candice Jackson both of Kansas City, Missouri. Four brothers, Russell Williams Sr. (Twinna) and Mark Williams (Barbara) from Kansas City, Missouri; Galen Williams (Inge) from Nashua, New Hampshire, Lee Ferguson from Homer, Louisiana; eight sisters, Pamela Smith (Glen), Alma Irving, Gail Bynum (Jonathan), Karen Mozee from Kansas City, Missouri; Charlotte Jackson (Jeff) and Dylane Louis (Gregory) from Hayward, California; Lori Thompson (Larry) from Orlando, Florida and Deborah Watson from Kansas City, Kansas; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Visitation for David will be held Monday, June 24, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO 64131. A Homegoing Celebration will occur Monday, June 24, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO 64131. An Interment will occur Monday, June 24, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Mount Moriah Cemetery, 10507 Holmes Rd, Kansas City, MO 64131.
