David graduated from Joplin High School and after graduation he attended CMSU in Warrensburg, MO getting his Bachelors of Business. He loved birds, baseball, antiques, old cars, road trips, fishing and Fun House pizza. He worked at Lake City Ammunition Plant in Independence, MO and was in the Army National Guard. He was a member of AA with 36 years of sobriety and also a member of the Police Academy Citizens Program. You could always count on David for comfort and laughs.
He was preceded in death by his son, John David Wagner; his parents, Brent and Anna Wagner; and his sister, Brenda Plagmann-Wagner.
David is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Kirkham (John); granddaughters, Alyssa Kirkham (Blade) and Tara Kirkham; nieces, Sherri Hicks (Larry) and Susan Voros (Frank); nephew, Steve Plagmann; great-niece, Kristen Taylor (Ben); great-nephews, Garrett Voros and Eli Hicks (Lindsey); and his best friend, Vic Colson.
A graveside service will be held at 12 PM Noon on Friday, June 14 at Floral Hills Cemetery, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64133.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mother’s Refuge, 14400 E 42nd St S # 220, Independence, MO 64055.
