David was born January 19, 1989, in Independence, Missouri to David C. and Catherine M. (Crawford) Talley, on a very-very cold day. He was 6 weeks early, but you couldn’t tell by looking. He was so beautiful and happy.
David went to Lutheran schools from pre-K through graduation. School wasn’t his favorite thing, but he did his best. One of his favorite things to do as a small toddler was to dance. He loved music of all generations. He sang everywhere he went, whether in the car, around the house, with Jewel one of his sitters when was a baby. He loved going to church with his grandma, singing and dancing even when he didn’t even know the words. Grandma was so very proud of him.
He loved getting together with all generations of family. He used call Cathy’s Aunt Mae grandma, not knowing the difference. Mom tried to correct him, but Aunt Mae told me Little David could call her whatever he wanted. From there on she was Grandma Mae.
We thought he was a fantastic artist. He used different media, and everything was so individual. We have several pictures up at our house that he either made for us or ones he was proud out. His mom liked art also and David would give pointers and ideas beyond what she could visualize. We were each other's art critics, in a good way. Our art was different, but this didn’t stop us from loving the work the other did.
David was preceded in death by his brother, Brandon David Talley. He lost his maternal grandparents before he was ever born, Harry Eugene & Wanda Jean Crawford. He got to spend many years with his grandparents Betty Jo & Horace Glenn Talley, and there was no better love between grandparents and grandchild. His paternal grandparents also preceded him in death.
David is survived by his parents David & Catherine Talley, Ronald Talley, Grace Williams, Patricia Dermody, Sandra & Gregg Lowe, Karen & Kenneth Garnica, and Jenny & Leroy Stewart on his dad’s side of the family. He was survived by Harry Crawford Jr, Edwin & Nicole Crawford. There were many-many cousins, too many to list and David loved each and every one.
Memorial service for David will be at 2:00 pm Saturday April 27, 2024, Ascension Lutheran Church, 4900 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, Missouri.
