David A. Kirkland, 64, Ottawa, KS passed away June 4, 2015. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Monday, June 8 at Floral Hills Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 PM Tuesday, June 9 at the funeral home with burial in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers friends are asked to make contributions to the Susan G. Koman Breast Cancer Foundation.
David was born in KC, MO and had lived in the K.C., KS area most of his life before moving to Ottawa. He worked as a warehouse receiver for Sysco for 371/2 years, retiring in 2013. David was an accomplished carpenter and talented BBQ chef. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister. Survivors include his wife Sherrie Kirkland, 6 sons, Michael Kirkland, Jason Kirkland, Bradley Houtman, John Houtman, Shawn Houtman and Alexander Houtman; a daughter, Roxi Bailes; 10 grandchildren and a nephew, Marvin Burnham.
