David Dougherty

David A. Dougherty, 82, died March 11, 2018. David was born December 12, 1935 . He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard F. and Esther P. (Bell) Dougherty, brother, Howard and sister Alta. David is survived by his best friend and wife, Sandra; 3 daughters, Marcia Dewey (Tenny), Lisa Bowman (Mark) and Susan Vinson (Bryan); 2 step daughters, Angela Gonzalez and Staci Greco (Tom); step son, Matthew Riley; 9 grandchildren, Kyle, Devon, Jordan, Megan, Joseph, Nicholas, Michael, Aaron and Aidan. David spent his entire career in law enforcement, retiring from the Independence Police Department after 30 years. He later worked at the Federal Reserve Bank finishing his career at the age of 81 as security at Truman Library. He enjoyed his 1990 blue Miata, traveling, history, guns, cars, music and his house at Lake of the Ozarks. He was an aviation enthusiast.
