Daryl Spencer Jones

Daryl spent most of his life serving others. Whether it was working as a nurse aide in a nursing home or working to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities or those with mental illness, Daryl committed to do his part to make their individual lives better by doing what he could to support them. He was in the process of completing his Masters of Social Work Degree to further the work to better serve others.

Daryl enjoyed the outdoors and would do anything he could to be outside - whether it was camping or just singing out by the fire. He also liked cooking, singing in the choir, spending time iwth his son and grandson, and spending time with his friends and family.

Daryl departed this life on Thursday, July 14, 2022 surrounded by loving family and friends after a battle with pneumonia.

Daryl made everyone feel like they were family! He leaves to cherish his memory: his sons - Maurice Jones and Brandon Burkhardt; stepmother - Geraldean Jones; mother-in-law - Darlene Bibee; his grandson - Levi Fawver (Ashley and Kellin); close friends - John Lear, George (Etta) Mitchell; cousins - Bruce, Becky, and Isaac Fowler; "other kids" - Jatasia and Marcellis; other special people in his life - Grace Lamar, Michael Browning, Davena Jones, and Jill (Tim) Arnold; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

He is preceded in death by both his parents, his sister Deshandra Phillips, his son Spencer Jones, and father-in-law Carol Bibie.

A visitation will occur Saturday, July 30, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 10306 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64134. The funeral service will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. A graveside service will follow at Floral Hills Cemetery, 7000 BLUE RIDGE BLVD, KANSAS CITY, MO 64133.
