Daniel Eugene Caffrey, 66, was called to Heaven on March 14, 2021. Dan was born on March 26, 1954 in Bossier City, LA to Raymond James Caffrey, M.D. and Charlotte Marie (Cook) Caffrey. He moved to Kansas City with his family, where he lived in the area for the remainder of his life. Dan married Cindy, his beloved wife, on September 1st 1978 and they enjoyed 42 wonderful years together. Dan and Cindy were truly best friends. Whether they were riding their bikes together, exercising, vacationing in Florida, or just passing time, Dan was always the happiest when they were together. He was a proud father of his children, Julie and John.
Dan was a 1972 graduate of Center Senior High School and earned his Bachelor Degree in Business from Central Missouri State University. He went on to become the National Accounts Manager at ROM Corporation, where he designed and revolutionized many market leading products that are still in use today. Prior to retiring, he traveled extensively for his job, and loved talking about the unique places he visited. Both Julie and John started their own businesses with a confidence they directly attributed to Dan.
He was the third oldest in a family of eight boys. Dan was close with his brothers and spent a lot of time with them that continued throughout adulthood. He had so many wonderful stories and memories that he would often share with others. The Caffrey family was always known for large gatherings and fun traditions.
Dan was an avid water-skier and spent many summers with family and friends at the Lake of the Ozarks. Later, he found tremendous joy in teaching countless people how to ski. His mastery of water-skiing tricks was simply marvelous to watch.
Dan had a playful sense of humor that brought much joy to all those he encountered, including his children and grandchildren. They meant the world to him. Many of the games they loved and played were games he invented.
Dan was one of a kind! His charismatic personality made him fun to be around. He was welcoming and always had a calming, inviting demeanor. While not one to ask for help for himself, he was always the first to offer help to others. He never sought acknowledgement or recognition for his good deeds. He had a strong faith that helped guide his moral compass. His conscience was his guide, providing him the blueprint to be the best husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend.
In addition to his parents, Raymond James Caffrey, M.D. and Charlotte Marie Caffrey, Dan is preceded in death by his father in-law, Captain Gerald Halloran, Mother-in-law, Leota (Lovitt) Halloran; and sister-in-law, Valerie Caffrey, beloved wife of his brother Mark Caffrey; nephew, Mitch Halloran. He is survived by his loving wife, Cindy; daughter, Julie (Josh) Morrow; son, John (Casey) Caffrey; brothers, Mark, Michael (Mary Ann), Patrick (Julianna), James (Beth), David (Mary Katherine), Robert, M.D. (Kathy), Richard (Markay); grandchildren, Colin, Carlie and Caleb Caffrey, Brody and Landon Morrow; and so many more family and friends.
