Daniel J. Byrne

Daniel J. Byrne, 77, of Kansas City, MO, died Saturday, October 19, 2013, at Hospice House. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, October 25th, 10:00 a.m., at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 11822 Holmes, Kansas City, MO. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 24th, at McGilley State Line Chapel, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., where the Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Kansas City Hospice and Palliative Care, 9221 Ward Parkway, Suite 100, Kansas City, MO, 64114.

Dan was a life-long resident of Kansas City, MO. He was born January 29, 1936, the son of Jack and Pauline Byrne. Dan attended Guardian Angels Grade School, DeLeSalle High School and Central Missouri State University. He was a teacher, coach and avid golfer. Dan was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He loved his Catholic faith and was a member of St. Thomas More Parish.

Dan is survived by his wife Barbara and four children, Andrea Boepple (Robert), Matt Byrne (Jamie), Victoria Shaffer (John) and Jack Byrne. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Ryan, Julia, Daniel and Kayla. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Joseph Byrne and nephew Kevin Byrne.
