Mr. Daniel Burns

Daniel Dwayne Burns, 82, of Kansas City, MO, passed away at his home on April 10, 2016, surrounded by family. Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm, on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at Floral Hills Funeral Home. Services will be at 10 am on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 also at the funeral home. Burial will be at Floral Hills East Cemetery, 25203 E 50 Highway, Lee’s Summit, MO following the services. Daniel was born on January 19, 1934, in Kansas City, MO. He attended Central High School and worked for the Kansas City Railroad Terminal for 17 years until starting a career in 1968 as a police officer for the Kansas City Missouri Police Department for 23 years. He was also skilled in auto mechanics and body work. Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel J. and Edna L. Burns, sister Marilyn Moore, son Richard Burns, brother-in-law Warren Manning, nephew Gregory Yancey and son-in-law Chuck Thomas. He is survived by his wife, Carol, son Daniel L. Burns (Teresa) Cameron, MO, daughters Wendy Gray, Blue Springs, MO, Kellie Hubler (Tracy), Gore, OK and Lisa Thomas, Independence, MO, sixteen grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren. He also leaves his sisters, Kathy Yancey (Neil), Grain Valley, MO and Maureen Manning, Poplar Grove, IL., and brother-in-law, Jerry Moore Edmond, Ok., and many nieces and nephews.
