Dale was born Oct. 9th, 1956 in K.C., KS to Charles Vernon and Helen (Thornsberry) Myers.
Dale graduated from North Kansas City High School in 1975, earned a BS degree in business administration from CMSU, Warrensburg in 1978 and completed his MBA from Rockhurst College in 1989.
In 1979, Dale married his high school sweetheart, Nancy Sapp and began his career at KCP&L in 1981. Dale worked in several positions beginning with Purchasing and ending as a Project Manager. After 31 years, Dale took an early retirement at age 54. This allowed Dale and Nancy to pursue the things they loved to do. These things included traveling, mission trips and serving at their church, Antioch Bible Baptist. Dale felt it was important to encourage missionaries, men, and his friends.
Dale also loved to take care of his property and share it with others. His hobbies included oil painting, making crafts on his lathe and using his tools. He liked to fish, snow ski, riding bikes and most importantly hang out with the love of his life, Nancy.
Dale is preceded in death by his sister, Sharon and his Father, Vernon. Surviving family members include his mother, Helen, wife, Nancy, his 3 sons who he was very proud of, Matthew and his wife Jenny, of Wichita, KS, Kyle of Madison, WI, Scott and his wife Annette of Burlington, IA and 4 sweet grand-daughters, Corinne, Audra, Selah and Alexa.
Dale’s quiet and faithful way of living out his faith and love for Christ was an inspiration and example to many. He will be missed, but would not want us to grieve, and celebrate his graduation into eternity. He would want all of us to live out our faith every day and not give up when life is hard. Dale ran his race to the very end. May we all follow that example.
