On Friday, November 18, 2022, Dale Thomas Jones, 75, was greeted in Heaven by his parents David and Helen, his sister Susan, and his brothers Mark and Joseph. Dale was born in Kansas City, Missouri, on September 20, 1947 as the eldest of 11 children. He was the proud father of Steven, Susan, Amanda, and Zach, along with his seven grandchildren, Nathan, Nicole, Claire, Isaaik, Donovan, Anthony, and Emma.
While growing up, Dale achieved the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout and after high school voluntarily joined the United States Air Force at the age of 17. He served as an air traffic controller, including extended service in Vietnam (call sign: “Snoopy”). He received numerous awards and decorations during his active duty service, and following his honorable discharge as a Sergeant he returned to Kansas City to begin raising his family.
Dale’s determination, hard work, and entrepreneurial spirit allowed him to enjoy a rewarding career in the furniture industry. His charismatic personality is one to be remembered, as he always went above and beyond both with his family and his career . He took great personal pride in his career; he was an exceptional salesman and very successful in business (and quite the sharp dresser!).
Dale always brought laughter to those in need. He had a heart of gold and was always extremely generous, as his close friends regularly expressed their gratitude for his mentorship. One of his greatest joys in life was his ability to bring cheer to those he held close to his heart. His generous disposition allowed his laughter to spread, and our smiles to grow bigger, as he cared for each of us as his own. He had a special way of love, and often gave gifts to show his appreciation to each of us.
Dale always knew how to have fun! His affectionate personality, contagious sense of humor, and infectious smile regularly brought happiness to those around him. He was an avid reader who enjoyed fishing and outdoor cookouts with loved ones. He always enjoyed a good Chief’s football game and a cold beer with his friends and family.
Dale leaves behind his brothers Alan and George, sisters Joyce, Phyllis, Mary, Rita, and Carolyn, his children and grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and countless close friends.
