D. Jeanne Snyder, resident of Kingswood Villas, passed away Friday, December 5, 2014 at Kingswood Care Center, Kansas City, Missouri. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 8, 2014 at Chapel of Hope Mausoleum in Mt. Moriah Cemetery South, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64131. Donations can be made in her name to Wayside Waifs, 3901 Martha Truman Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64137 or Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, 1275 York Avenue, New York, New York 10065.

Jeanne was born August 4, 1930 only child of Ada Rose and Bill Waldvogel in/of Kansas City, Kansas. Jeanne graduated from Wyandotte High School class of 1948 followed by hours spent at Kansas City Kansas Junior College. In 1952 she earned her Bachelor of Science in Education from Kansas State Teachers College of Emporia, where she joined Delta Zeta and maintained membership for 60 years.

April 12, 1963 she married Jerry O. Snyder. They celebrated 49 years of marriage before his death in 2012. Jeanne taught in the Shawnee Mission School district from 1952-1990. During the years, she was actively in AAUW, R.A. Block Cancer Foundation, and the Gas Services retirement group. Jeanne enjoyed spending time reading, writing short stories, adding antiques to her family pieces and needle point. Jeanne was a member of Colonial United Church of Christ. She is survived by her family and friends.
